No Dragons Here

and other stories from Ireland & Malawi

Here is a collection of stories within a story. The tales are wide ranging: from robbery, a deadly snake, witchcraft and violence to a village wedding, a miracle and a Presbyterian Gladiator. All the stories are true. They emerge from the background of how the Presbyterian Church was established, with its manses, in Ireland and Malawi. Some of the stories may be unsettling or leave the reader slightly uncomfortable, while others are warm hearted or funny. Though short and simply told they help to preserve snap shots of history, offer cameos of two different cultures and give glimpses of every-day manse life. Whether or not there are actual dragons here, there are certainly reminders of exciting things the Living God has done and is still doing!
